Bronx’s Campaign Update

Bronx had his surgery about a week ago and has been doing great! The vet says he was able to repair the injury and Bronx has been in a cast the last week. He goes in for a re-check in about 5 days and if all looks well the cast will come off! Another 2 weeks of cage rest and he will rejoin the free-roaming cats in his room. We are all hopeful for a complete recovery and can then focus on getting him adopted!

Please consider joining the Waggle Foundation's FurEver Fund to set up a recurring donation to help save many more pets' lives. This will enable our nonprofit to build a strong and reliable safety net for animals in crisis and desperately in need of a second chance. This substantially improves the odds that every dog or cat will receive the treatment they need to save their life—and simply put, that is Waggle's mission.

Bronx’s story

Bronx and his brother Binx arrived at Connecticut's Pet Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) as stray kittens that had been found, and likely born, on the street. Bronx and Binx are a closely bonded pair, and Ellen E. of PAWS is hoping to find the sweet cats a loving home together.

"PAWS is a small shelter with very limited resources," says Ellen. "These pets come with large vet bills and Bronx is no exception."

Despite his rough start to life, Bronx has come to realize that the people at PAWS are there to help, and he's put his trust in them. He loves to get attention, and once he has warmed up to a human, he loves to come and sit with them to be petted and loved on. Bronx and Binx have made great strides in their short time with PAWS, and Ellen is confident that the brothers will make a wonderful addition to any family.

Unfortunately, Bronx recently injured himself when in his free roaming room at PAWS. Doctors at the VCA Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center suspect that Bronx may have jumped or fallen from a high perch and landed awkwardly, causing a piece of bone to become disconnected from his elbow. Bronx now requires surgery to repair his disconnected elbow, and the costs could run as high as $4,800, but Ellen and the staff at PAWS are adamant about getting him healed and ready to be adopted out to a good home.

"While many shelters would euthanize an animal rather than spending thousands for surgery, we chose to save Bronx due to his age and temperament," says Ellen. "He deserves a chance to find a home, and with your help, we can find him a great one."
